10tons Ltd. was founded in 2003. Before that the company had a life as a serious hobby. At first the offices were virtual and people worked from wherever they saw fit. The debut release was Crimsonland which became a cult hit. In 2003 the casual games market was emerging and plans to create some casuals were laid out.
Even though the core of the company was still studying in the university, several games were developed. These included Ice Breaker (2004), Bubblefish Bob (2005), Karu (2006), and Abundante! (2006). It was also decided that casual games would be developed under the MythPeople brand.
At the beginning of the year 2007 the company left the bedrooms and founded offices at the heart of Tampere. The year 2007 spawned three new games: Sparkle, Profitville, and Azkend. Since it seemed that Apple had succeeded with Macs, 10tons started supporting Mac OS X with Azkend.
In the year 2008 the company hired more people and developed Miriel the Magical Merchant. 10tons also moved into a larger office to acommodate the growing team. Towards the end of year 2008 10tons entered the mobile market with two iPhone games: Shapium and Xenotracker.
10tons Ltd. aims to grow and bring as much fun as possible to as many people as possible. Finding new ways to create even better games is a challenge 10tons faces with great joy. In the future we'd like to create the finest games on as many platforms as possible. One thing is always certain: 10tons Ltd. is looking forward to meet the exciting future ahead.
